Longtime Mahtomedi resident Joe Ferrazzo recently opened up a Device PitStop shop in Maplewood. As a largely family-operated store, it makes sense that the whole idea began with Ferrazzo’s wife, Cathy, noticing a Device PitStop article in the paper.
The shop has a sales floor filled with refurbished desktop computers, phones and tablets, as well as new accessories like printers and keyboards. Products are bought through dealers or customers who are upgrading to a new device. Ferrazzo notes that people trust Device PitStop because they make it a priority to remove personal information, doing a “triple-pass wipe of the hard drive.” They repair everything on-site, so nothing leaves the store and turnaround time is the same day. “There’s really nothing we can’t fix!” Ferrazzo says.
