Catchin’ Air

Podvin Skatepark in White Bear Lake gives kids a place to skateboard in the summer.

Summer is the most beautiful season in Minnesota, and it gives kids the much-needed opportunity to play in the fresh air. White Bear Lake offers several traditional playgrounds, but one park offers something that most parks don’t have: a skatepark.

Podvin Park Skatepark, which opened in 2009, gives skateboard aficionados the opportunity to carve, grind and catch air all summer long. The skatepark has a half-pipe (a ramp) and a cement pad.

The skatepark, which is unsupervised, is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and can be used whenever weather conditions permit; helmets and pads are encouraged.
