Dig In

Two new White Bear Lake restaurants have opened their doors.

Set your taste buds a-twitter with some fabulous fare from two new eateries. Here’s a quick peek at what they have to offer:

Olive’s Fresh Pizza Bar

Opened in December, Olive’s serves wood-fired pizza made from only fresh ingredients. Co-owner Jason Bailey founded the first Olive’s Fresh in Marine on St. Croix in 2010 to make “seriously good pizza.” The menu at Olive’s offers 10 different pizzas, including the classic margherita, the bold Mediterranean, and even an Alaskan pizza with salmon, cream cheese and dill. If you’re feeling a bit more adventurous, you can always build your own pizza. The restaurant’s warm, inviting atmosphere provides the perfect ambiance for relaxing with family and friends.

Red Lantern Sushi

Red Lantern Sushi, which serves authentic Japanese cuisine, also opened in December. Located in the former Ursula’s Wine Bar, the traditional Asian-influenced decor makes for a sophisticated dining experience. The restaurant aims to bring the freshest Japanese cuisine to the Twin Cities through the expertise of chef and owner Wei Wang. Their sushi menu consists of fresh fish options that change throughout the week, and rolls that include seasonal spices and ingredients. Seasonal small plates called izakaya are also served, along with an extensive beer and sake menu.
