DIY Studio, Create Space, Recently Relocated to White Bear Lake

A DIY shop that loves to get crafty with its product is now a key establishment in downtown White Bear Lake.
Create Space, previously located in Vadnais Heights, is the perfect spot for community members to exercise their creativity. With over 100 designs to choose from, everyone at any age can create most anything they want. The only limit is their imagination.

Katie Cooley, who co-owns the shop with her husband Al, believes creativity activates a certain part of the brain. “I love watching people get out of their comfort zone and do things they’ve never done before,” she says.

Cooley and her husband are the perfect duo, him working with wood and her with arts and crafts. The shop also offers customizable products, allowing people to come in with their own designs. “If somebody comes to us with an idea, we make it happen,” Cooley says.

The store’s move to downtown White Bear Lake was predestined, the only obstacle finding a space. Once accomplished, they relocated.

“When this space opened, we jumped on it,” Cooley says. It was the community and the cozy atmosphere that made this location the shop’s new home.
