Families Are Encouraged to Do Yoga Every November

It was November 9th of last year when Mayor Jo Emerson named the second Saturday of November “White Bear Lake Family Yoga Day.” And LifeCore Yoga, which has studios in White Bear Lake and North Oaks, participates with its annual Family Yoga Day event.

LifeCore yoga instructor and owner Allison Drusch reveals the event started because members wanted their yoga-curious children to have the opportunity to participate in the practice. Her two daughters started practicing young. “They’ve been doing yoga with me ever since they were babies,” Drusch says.

The event—sponsored by LifeCore Yoga, BearPower, GoodKids and Judy Craig with The Craig Group of Edina Realty—entails a fun yoga class, visits with BearPower’s mascot, Crunch the Carrot, and more. “Our partnership with BearPower gives more opportunities for families to get active,” Drusch says.

All proceeds go to H20 for Life, a local charity. With 50 people attending last year and more expected this year, the event is sure to spread comsmunity awareness for health.

November 11, 9–10 a.m. $2 and up, register online or day of at 8:45 a.m. White Bear Lake Area High School-South Campus.
