As the winter snows turn to April showers, the unfrozen world begins to peek through and come alive once more. This is the perfect month to celebrate taking care of the planet, as two holidays—Earth Day and Arbor Day—fall at the end of April. For those who are Really Into The Earth, the ninth annual RITE of Spring environmental fair takes place at the Community Education Center in Mahtomedi on April 25. The fair features informational booths from the conservation district, county and city, from 9 a.m. to noon. Look out for troops of volunteers doing maintenance work and planting trees in the White Bear Lake-area parks on May 2 as part of the City of White Bear Lake’s Arbor Day efforts.
