Lens on the Lake: A Bridge to Somewhere

First-place winner shares what’s behind his winning shot.

On Easter morning a few years back, fog filled the air and the sun was peeking through. And next to the lake was the perfect scene for Daniel Bosscher to capture his winning photo, “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” for Lens on the Lake’s Wildlife and Nature category. His photograph follows his approach of letting natural beauty speak for itself. “I don’t particularly enjoy photos that are so edited that they start to look fake,” Bosscher says, so he simply straightened the photo and submitted it. A keen eye, a Canon 5d and a 17-40 mm lens were the tools he needed to garner first place.
