Lisa Swan and Sherry Walker combine fashion and philanthropy in a big way. Their high-end clothing boutique, the Sherralise Group, along with Mainstream Boutique, provided clothing for the Ronald McDonald House “Love Luncheon and Style Show” in September. The luncheon was a fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald Family Room at Children’s Hospital in St. Paul. A client introduced Swan and Walker to this cause, and, they say, “It really struck a chord with us.”
Nearly 200 people attended the event and raised more than $43,000 for the family room, which meant that the Ronald McDonald project reached its fundraising goal. The room provides the families of children receiving treatment with comforting amenities such as a kitchen and lounge, as well as laundry service. Construction began on the family room in January. As Swan and Walker look forward to participating in Cooks for Kids, another Ronald McDonald House fundraiser, they both agree the giving back doesn’t end here.
