New LifeCore Yoga studio open in White Bear Lake, offers classes for all skill levels

New LifeCore Yoga studio offers classes for all skill levels.

Allison Drusch admits that yoga can be intimidating. Beginners often envision themselves being twisted into pretzel shapes and shy away from giving a class a try. But the approach at Drusch’s studio, LifeCore Yoga, is meant to help people at all skill levels live a healthier lifestyle and, she says, to prove that “yoga is a practice for everybody.”

Drusch’s journey to yoga began when she was 18 years old and working as a professional dancer. An athlete her entire life, she was searching for a way to increase her flexibility, and yoga was the perfect fit. Yoga eventually became her passion and Drusch, a resident of White Bear Lake, wanted to start her own studio. The first LifeCore Yoga opened in 2010 in North Oaks. As business grew, she began looking for a second location, and the space beneath the newly expanded Goodthings store downtown offered the perfect atmosphere. Drusch was drawn to the clean, friendly, professional environment, which also boasts its own entrance for yoga students.

It’s not a typical 9-to-5 business, though. Instead, Drusch strives for the studio to be responsive to the needs of the community. “We want to know our students,” she says, and notes the classes offered and the times will adjust as she becomes more familiar with the new set of faces in the brand-new space. —Brooke Wallington
