WBL Best Of 2015: The Greatest Show on Earth

We asked, you answered:Readers’picks for the Best of White Bear Lake 2015.
John Lupo, owner of Grandma’s bakery, with a custom circus-themed cake.

A place to pamper your tutu-wearing pup? You can take her to LuLu & Luigi’s. Looking for someone to help you gain your financial footing on the tightrope of life? Charles Edson with Edward Jones will help you find that all-important safety net. And what about a place that’s as exciting and thrilling as a three-ring circus to let your kid run off a little steam? The 4th Street Dance Centre is the perfect spot for your energetic tot who’s hopped up on cake (a circus-themed cake, perhaps?).

Yep, you guessed it: It’s the Best of under the Big Top! For the third consecutive year, White Bear Lake Magazine asked readers to vote for the best our fair city has to offer. With hundreds of readers weighing in and thousands of votes cast, we are proud to reveal your top picks, from restaurants and shops to pediatricians and landscapers.

So, step right up and dive right in to our special issue, chock-full of all the great places, people and things that make the White Bear Lake area such a great place to live. Okay, so we don’t have dancing bears or bearded ladies (we do have a lot of salons that could take care of that last one), but we have most everything else.

FOOD & RESTAURANTS

Whether you’re in the mood for a little more than peanuts and popcorn: A steaming stack of pancakes for a leisurely Sunday breakfast, the perfect spot for a cocktail with friends, a place to take the kiddos for a quick bite to eat when the thought of rustling up something at home is just too much to bear (see what we did there?) or anything in-between, these top eateries will fill your gullet and soothe your soul.

Best Historic Venue
Kellerman’s Event Center
When you open the front door and walk up the stairs to the Kellerman’s Event Center on Fourth Street, you know you are someplace special. What started out as a YMCA in 1907, and has had many occupants since, has been transformed into a stunning events venue. Terry Kellerman, a virtual Jack-of-all-trades, spent hours, weeks, months and years painstakingly bringing the place to life. His latest addition to the space? A martini lounge, which just opened this spring.
