New ownership of Lakeside Floral brings a fresh flair.

When Elishia Robson started working at Lakeside Floral in 2000, she fell in love with the floral industry and the community she had come to know. So at the end of July 2014, when she was asked if she wanted to take over the business, she didn’t hesitate.

Like any floral shop, Lakeside provides bouquets for weddings, corsages for homecoming and prom, and flowers for funerals and other occasions. But with the motto “Think outside the vase,” it’s little wonder that Robson and her team create floral arrangements that are tailored to each individual and situation. This is especially evident in their wedding flowers; Robson uses unique pieces in her arrangements to reflect the client, such as kale and artichoke hearts in a bouquet for a garden-loving bride, or a centerpiece arrangement that reflects a campfire, complete with a white rose s’more, for a bride who loves the outdoors.

For funerals, the team uses flowers as a testament and representation of the loved one’s life, and they have even included pieces such as an artist’s paintbrushes in the arrangements for someone who loved to paint. “Flowers are important to life,” says Robson.

In addition to specializing in flowers for any occasion, Robson now offers interior design services and keeps the shop chock-full of unique gifts.
