Revitalized lakefront has a lot to offer this summer.

Just constructed in 2014, the boardwalk has transformed the lakefront of White Bear from boating marina to an area that everyone can enjoy. The property where the boardwalk now stands used to be the site of Johnson Boatworks, and was bought by the city in 1999. The goal of buying the site was to “make the lakefront realm more public,” says community development director Anne Kane.
The boardwalk connects the local parks near the lake and acts as a hub for the outdoor scene. Featuring wooden furniture that looks like it grew up from the planks, and several scheduled live music events, the boardwalk is a destination for summer fun.
