In Firefighting Matt Taking a Break, Ron Hawkins, photographer extraordinaire, captured a shot of a White Bear Lake fireman taking in the scene on a cold winter’s day. The image, one of a few award-winning photos Hawkins snapped for the photo contest, garnered a second place win in the People and Families category.
