Revolution Sporting Goods doesn’t “look like many other sporting goods stores people have been in,” says Dan Ponsolle, one half of the team that’s bringing a highly unusual shopping experience to the White Bear Lake area. Between Ponsolle and his brother Joe, the pair has 16 years of experience with Play It Again Sports, as well as a lifelong love for everything athletic. “We just thought there were a few things we wanted to do for [Play It Again],” says Ponsolle. “So we thought we would try it on our own.”
Some of the unique aspects of the store include a lounge area—featuring a 1930s bar, club chairs, TVs and refreshments—a skate try-on area modeled after the end of a hockey rink, and a knee-hockey area for kids to play in while the grown-ups shop. Revolution carries high end, new and gently used gear for baseball, softball, lacrosse, hockey and football, as well as apparel and embroidery services for local teams.
