Grab your running shoes and get ready to run a race for good. The Rotary Strive Scholarship Race aims to raise funds for scholarships to high school seniors in the Strive program, which helps high school seniors in the White Bear Lake school district looking to go to college. Each student in the program signs a contract to commit to improving their grade point average and attendance. “The student who shows the most improvement receives a year’s scholarship to Century College,” says Rotary member Dale Grambush. This year, the program will award nine student scholarships in varying amounts.
There’s a race for every kind of runner, including 5K and 10K options. Enjoy a flat course that follows White Bear Lake. Preregistration is open, but walk-up participants are welcome.
August 4. All ages. $35. 8 a.m. The Boatworks Commons, 4459 Lake Ave. S.; 651.357.6109.
