No matter how many forms of entertainment that are available, there’s something unique about the satisfaction we get from reading a book. Kindles, Nooks and e-books are convenient and let you access thousands of titles just by touching your screen. For some of us, there’s nothing like the pleasure of holding a book in our hand—the weight of it, the cover, the feel of the paper and even the scent of the pages. Whether you’re an e-reading fan a hold-it-in-your-hand book lover, or a combination of the two, our community has resources for you to get the most out of reading.
Book clubs are a way to socialize with other people who love books, to get other perspectives on a book, and let’s face it, some of us need the deadline of a book club meeting to actually sit down and finish that book we’ve been having the best of intentions to finish. Add a fun setting like the Manitou Grill and Cabin 61 with good things to eat and drink, and you’re almost guaranteed a great time.
The White Bear Lake Book Club may be just the thing you’re looking for. The group now has 55 members. Recent books have included When We Were Yours, by Lisa Wingate and Mystic Tea, by Lea Nolan Martin.
