We’ve all dreamed of meeting our favorite celebrity. Maybe you've planned what you'd wear, or practiced our cool and casual introduction. But for most of us, these are just daydreams.
This wasn’t the case for White Bear local Alexa Berg, who defied the odds when she met Food Network celebrity Duff Goldman. Cooking fans might recognize him as the star of the popular reality television show Ace of Cakes.
How did such a chance encounter occur? Duff has co-designed a line of cake baking and decorating products for local entrepreneur Greg Gartner's creative company, Gartner Studios. While in Stillwater, Duff stopped by the Northern Educate Sports Academy in Vadnais Heights to share an inspirational message, encouraging the students to follow their dreams. Duff even brought cupcakes and supplies from his new line and challenged the students to get creative designing their own treats.
To show their appreciation, Duff was presented with his own personalized jersey on behalf of the school. After working with the students as a group, he took the time to meet with each individually, including Berg. Needless to say, it was an exciting day for the students of Northern Educate Sports Academy, and a dream come true for Berg.
