It’s wonderful how food can bring folks together. Last night, my husband David and I attended a spaghetti fundraiser for St. Jude’s Food Shelf at Coventry of Mahtomedi. Our plates were brimming with spaghetti and meatballs, and the room was abuzz as folks enjoyed the meal armed with the knowledge they were helping bring food to someone in need.
We had spaghetti and meatballs. We had salad and breadsticks. We had cookies and sweets. The event filled our stomachs and our hearts. And, in essence, there were more than all the people in those Community and Dining Rooms, the folks who get food from the food shelf were there, too. And the food tasted all the better for it.
