It’s time for the 43rd annual Heritage Days Celebration—three days of fun and excitement where there’s something for everyone.
Starting off the week on Monday is the Medallion Hunt with a $200 prize. You’ll be able to find clues around town at City Hall, Community Park and Kohler Meadows Park. If you’re on the go, you can keep informed by checking the medallion hotline.
Here are some of the highlight events you don’t want to miss:
Softball Tournament, Saturday
The softball tournament is a must-see. Nearly 400 people signed up for it last year, says Brigid Nault, Vadnais Heights’ recreation supervisor. Grab your friends and family, and sign up to be a team.
Fireworks, Saturday
“One of the biggest attraction of the whole event,” Nault says. The fireworks will begin at dusk. Enjoy music from the band Hornucopia before and after the fireworks—starting at 7:30 p.m. and ending at 10:30 p.m. Got an empty stomach? There will be food, beer and wine available for purchase.
Grande Parade, Sunday
The parade starts at noon at the intersection of McMenemy and Oak Grove Parkway. It will head south down McMenemy to County Road F and will turn east to Community Park. Come early to make sure you have a great spot on the parade route.
Kat Perkins with the Children’s Performing Arts Show Choir, Sunday
Hear Kat Perkins, semifinalist on the sixth season of The Voice, after the Children’s Performing Arts show choir. Choir sings from 1:45–2:30 p.m. Perkins will join the choir for one song and will perform until 4:15 p.m.
