The annual Taste of Vadnais has a new name and a new look this year, as the Concert at Vadnais Square. The event will focus more on the music, but will still showcase the beauty and fun of Vadnais Center.
“Taste of Vadnais was meant to be a one-time thing for the City Hall open house,” Brigid Nault, recreation supervisor for the City of Vadnais Heights, says. “It continued as a thank you to restaurants for helping with the open house and as a showcase for the center.” Because this event falls at the beginning of the summer season, it is hard to get restaurants on board, Nault says. “It’s the start of the summer season for restaurants. They are trying to train new summer workers and then to add running a booth on top of that—it is a busy time for them to be doing all of that.”
The exciting new event will still bring the focus on Vadnais Heights, just with music instead. The City of Vadnais Heights has hired none other than the Bad Girlfriends, who will perform a wide variety of high-energy music—everything from rock to pop. No need to bring your own chair, they will be provided in front of the stage. (So maybe get there early so you can get the best spot in the house!)
The Vadnais Heights Lions Club will provide food and refreshments for sale, and of course, Mad Jacks Café is right there. Like previous years, the concert will be held in the F&M Bank and Mad Jacks Café parking lot, and there will be plenty of room for parking. There are no excuses to skip out on this night of fun.
