Urban Boatbuilders, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing opportunities to achieve success through woodworking and experiential learning, is hosting it's second annual ice fishing tournament on White Bear Lake with all of the proceeds benefitting youth programming. Urban Boatbuilders is partnering with locally-owned company, Northcast to bring this event to the White Bear community.

The ice fishing derby will include a competitive tournament for anglers to win great prizes, "learn to fish" stations for all ages, on-ice games and family-friendly activities, firepits, a silent auction, and food and beverages.

Winners will be in the following categories:

First place: longest/largest fish
Second place: second longest/largest fish
Third place: third-longest/largest fish
Special raffle for children anglers

You may bring your own bait or purchase it on-site. Registration begins at 1:30 p.m., lines in the water at 2:30 p.m. All ages and experience levels are welcome to participate!

Northcast, LLC is a Minnesota-based company specializing in unique, handmade jewelry, delicious dry rub seasoning, and a family recipe for fish fry batter. Inspired by camping, cooking, and family traditions, Northcast was created to connect with the community over our love for the outdoors.

Urban Boatbuilders provides paid apprenticeships and community partnerships, where youth create a beautiful, functional craft. Along the way, youth develop critical career and future-readiness skills to achieve their goals and find success. Based in Saint Paul, Urban Boatbuilders has served more than 8,000 youth and partnered with over 100 schools and community organizations.
