Congregation and members of the community alike make their annual journey to view the classic manger scene displayed on the grounds of St. Stephen Lutheran Church. Featuring live animals rented from Hugo and volunteering actors adorned in handmade costumes, the scene is a reminder of the season.

“It’s pretty moving,” says Teri Cinis, a longtime member of the congregation. “It brings everything together, especially if it snows lightly.”

Celebrating its 25th year, while the scene remains the same, Cinis says they have showcased different animals, like a baby lamb, and an assortment of actors, including her husband who dresses as a shepherd to herd people in.

Inside the church, attendees will find  a reception, offering warm beverages, food, live music and a children’s craft corner. Actors rejoin the holiday activities after their shifts, and sometimes members sing along with the holiday tunes.

Come one and come all, there is enough room for everyone at this inn.
