On October 3 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the White Bear Lake Fire Department will be hosting its annual Firefighter Open House at Fire Station No. 2. “It’s really kind of one of those events where no matter what age you are, you’ll have a good time,” says Ron Hawkins, captain of Fire Station No. 1. The focus of this event is on fire prevention, including firefighter demonstrations and a grease fire simulation, but will also include a vehicle extraction demonstration. As part of their “Fill the Ambulance” campaign, attendees are encouraged to bring food donations.
