Marketfest

Thursdays, 6–9 p.m.
For 24 years, Marketfest has been an annual tradition in downtown White Bear Lake, kicking off Manitou Days (see next column). The festival is fun for the entire family, and it features live entertainment, handcrafted goods and children’s activities. There’s even a farmers’ market and a classic car show.

Manitou Days
June 19–July 4
Manitou Days in White Bear Lake is a three-week summer festival showcasing the best of the community. For 47 years, this annual event has started off with Marketfest and ended on the Fourth of July with fireworks over the lake. Festival highlights include the Grand Parade and the Beach Dance.

Mahtomedi Farmers’ Market
June 21–September 20
Saturdays, 8 a.m.–noon
The Mahtomedi Farmers’ Market is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year. The market, which takes place in Triangle Park, features produce from local growers and wares from local artisans.

Mahtomedi Garden Tour
Sunday, June 29
12–4 p.m.
The Mahtomedi Garden Tour consists of a self-guided tour of six area gardens. The tour is planned by the Mahtomedi Garden Club, and proceeds support gardening education and community beautification projects in Mahtomedi.

White Bear Lake Farmers’ Market
June 27–October 24
Fridays, 8 a.m.–noon
The White Bear Lake Farmers’ Market was started in the 1970s and features 51 vendors, many of whom have been with the market for a number of years. Goods include everything from honey and maple syrup to salsa and jam.
