Local nonprofit chapter provides free fishing excursions for seniors.
Many Minnesotans, including seniors, love to fish, but may not have the
necessary equipment to do so. “Let’s Go Fishing with Seniors,” a program with a
chapter in White Bear Lake, can solve that dilemma.
Founded in 2002, the program provides free fishing and boating excursions for
seniors age 50 and older. With more than 30 chapters in Minnesota and Wisconsin,
the program lets thousands of seniors each year enjoy the great outdoors.
Each “Let’s Go Fishing” excursion includes a boat and equipment, plus live
bait and snacks. The only thing that participants need is a fishing license.
