Terry O’Loughlin, a passionate photographer for the last few decades, received second place in the Lens on the Lake contest for his photo illustrating water-ski course markers on a serene White Bear Lake. One day last summer, he awoke before 7 a.m. to capture the tranquility of the moment. The waters were still. The sunlight nowhere to be seen. It was a picture-perfect day.
O’Loughlin expresses his love for his hometown through the lens of his camera. “I grew up on that lake. I knew what that very scene looked like in 1942,” O’Laughlin says with pride. When asked why he took this photo he says, “I love taking pictures of all different things, but especially White Bear Lake.”
