White Bear Lake Magazine enjoys showcasing the lake community in a number of ways, and that includes sharing readers’ points of view through what they see, appreciate and capture with their cameras.

Icy Situation

Stephanie Herington nabbed this shot by Manitou Island, near where the dinghy boats are stored in the summer. She says, “I really loved how the ice had piled up on shore and how the rugged ice contrasted against the smooth blue sky.

Baking sourdough bread. Doing puzzles. Getting puppies. Add crafting to the list of trends we’ve seen uptick during the pandemic, and you get the appeal of Create Space. Not everyone has ample space at home to get creative, and that’s just what the shop provides.

I’ve fallen in love with Fredrik Backman’s writing the same way he states in this book he wants his son to fall in love with words. “Like whirlwinds in your head. Like a punch to the gut.”

It has been a year since the COVID-19 pandemic upended all of our lives. The unanticipated lifestyle changes took a toll on all of us; however, people didn’t lose all hope. 

We’re relegated to staying home a lot more these days, so why not put that extra time indoors to good use?
