After nearly 27 years, Joey Halbach is saying goodbye to the Washington County library system. Retiring from her position as the public relations librarian, she looks back fondly on her time spent helping the patrons of our local libraries. Halbach began as a substitute for the system of county libraries before moving into the children’s librarian position. “I absolutely loved reading to kids,” she says. As a public relations librarian, Halbach coordinated with people from around the county to let them know about the library. More recently, she wrote a breezy, fun column, “Library Chat with Library Woman” for a variety of area media sources.
Most of all, Halbach will miss those she worked with over the years, and says they “are always wanting to find the right answer for people.”
