How can an amazing legacy that someone has created throughout his or her lifetime be honored? This was the question that inspired the J. Stanley and Doris Hill Legacy Award. “The Hills, longtime residents of White Bear Lake, exemplified the spirit of community service throughout their lives. With their passing, this award was created to honor those who not only are dedicated to servant leadership, but also who believe deeply in the power of education to transform lives,” says Jill Greenhalgh of the Century College Foundation.
This year, Dale A. Johnson received this award. He was nominated because of his extensive involvement as an advocate and generous supporter of education and community service to organizations such as the White Bear Lake Park Board, the White Bear Lake Jaycees, and his dedication to the Mahtomedi Area Educational Foundation. He was the ninth person to receive this award. “Dale’s vision, leadership and generosity exemplify the legacy of Stan and Doris Hill,” says Greenhalgh.
