The White Bear Center for the Arts (WBCA) showcases the community’s best art from all its members, including those still in high school.
For the third year in a row, high school students in the Northeast Metro area entered their best work in the center’s High School Visual Arts Contest for a chance to showcase at the Ford Family Gallery and win cash prizes. The winning artwork will be displayed from April 23 until May 18.
“I think the gallery itself is really powerful for all the kids in White Bear Lake,” Danielle Cézanne, program director for WBCA, says.
Over 200 typically enter, but that number continues to grow, according to Cézanne. A diverse selection of art is submitted, ranging from ceramics to painting.
Cézanne says the impact is felt across the ages. “[The artists] inspire the younger students and what they create,” she says.
