Solid Ground, the nonprofit organization that aims to reduce homelessness in the area, is once again hosting its annual Santa Shop. The event, which is open to residents of Solid Ground, lets those residents choose donated holiday gifts for their children; all shoppers are matched with volunteers to help find the perfect gift for every child.
Solid Ground is accepting donations through December 14 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at East Metro Place. Those who donate are asked to bring in only newly purchased items. “It’s just a little more special to get a brand-new toy or present for the holidays,” says Liz Meyers, volunteer program manager for Solid Ground. Gifts for all ages, from infants to teens, are needed. So when you’re out shopping for your own family members, remember to grab an extra gift for the children at Solid Ground.
