Mahtomedi’s RITE of Spring Event Offers Environmental Tips

The notion of taking care of your planet so it can take care of you isn’t a new one, and the annual RITE of Spring event in Mahtomedi reinforces that idea.

Now in its eighth year, the RITE of Spring (the acronym stands for Really Into the Earth) is held around Earth Day to remind residents to be mindful of their consumption habits. Put on by the city of Mahtomedi Environmental Commission in combination with Mahtomedi School District Community Education, this event helps Mahtomedi residents educate themselves so they can do all they can to keep the area green. Plant a Tree Around the Lake

For more than 25 years, White Bear Lake has been celebrating Arbor Day and Earth Day by bringing together citizens to participate in community projects that help keep the area clean and green. Celebrate on May 3 this year by planting trees in parks throughout the area, and cleaning along the lakefront. Community activities begin at 8 a.m.; for specific locations and project details, head to the City of White Bear Lake’s website or contact the engineering department at 651.429.8531.
