As a veteran himself, Reverend Mark Kelm was disappointed when he first came to White Bear Lake and found there were no community Veteran’s Day events. So he immediately set out to create one. Now, every Veteran’s Day at 2 p.m., locals can go to the monument at St. John in the Wilderness Episcopal Cemetery to honor those who have served and sacrificed the most. This year’s event will be on November 11, and will include speaker Lt. Col. Stephen Burggraff, a Minnesota Army National Guard RRB Commander, a three-rifle volley, bagpipe music, and some prayers and readings.
