White Cane Days

Wildwood Lions raise funds to help the blind.

This year, the Wildwood Lions will be celebrating 17 years of involving the community to help the blind with their annual White Cane Days. The white canes represent the red-tipped white cane developed by a Lions Club member in 1930 to assist the visually impaired to be more mobile and independent. Funds from selling these miniature canes, or the white cane stickers, will be used to further the Lions’ efforts to fight blindness in sight-related projects here in Minnesota. Half of the proceeds go to statewide programs, and the remainder of the proceeds goes back into local community projects.
