Most people only wish they could write down the stories of those colorful, curious, kooky people that helped shape them into the people they’ve become, or dream of telling the tales of their growing-up years in places imbued with memory and meaning.
Well, Patty Olchefski-Winston—a woman who grew up and spent much of her life in White Bear Lake—did just that. Her book, The Curious Childhood of Patty O, is full of funny stories about her family, amusing anecdotes, poignant and powerful recollections, zany-but-lovely characters and a nod to the beauty of the lake that still resides in her memory some forty years later.
You can look forward to a Q & A with Patty in our May issue, but if you're hankering to get your hands on the book now, head to lulu.com, or download it at iTunes.
