It was fun on the water as folks took in a boat cruise organized by the Mahtomedi Liquor Barrel.
The Polar Plunge serves as the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Special Olympics of Minnesota. There are 20 plunges across the state, and last year alone, 15,000 people raised nearly $4 million.

It was a veritable doggy-palooza at the first annual Dog Days Downtown event, where pups and their owners strolled the downtown streets, learned doggy manners and took in other pet-friendly activities.
Golfers took to Oak Glen for the first annual Big Woods Golf Tournament which raised money for Merrick Inc., and included golf, prizes, appetizers and, of course, Big Wood beer.
The White Bear Center for the Arts sponsored an exhibition of Edna Imm’s artwork, which Imm created over an illustrious 80-year career.
White Bear Lake’s Gary LaRue seems to be able to do it all. After switching careers and finding his niche as an entertainer and disc jockey, LaRue has had more success than ever.
Folks took in the grand opening event at the Boatworks Commons, which included tours of the luxury residences, live music, refreshments and prizes.
The Mahtomedi Area Educational Foundation held its annual spring gala event, which included a silent auction, great food and fun, and raised more than $250,000 for the foundation and Mahtomedi schools.
