Runners support the White Bear Lake community at this year’s Bear Water Run.
Dust off your running shoes for the 13th annual Bear Water Run on September 14. Hosted by the White Bear Lions Club, the run brought out about 200 runners during its first year, and now brings out more than 800 runners to hit the pavement, says co-director Mike Machus. Runners can choose from a 10-mile course that starts at Ramsey County Beach and continues around the lake, or opt for the 20-mile race, perfect for those training for the upcoming Twin Cities Marathon. The event has raised more than $250,000 since its inception, with all profits going back to the community. $40–$50. 8 a.m. Ramsey County Beach, 5050 Lakeview Ave., White Bear Lake.
