Inside the trendy hotspot in White Bear, nestled above Mizu Japanese in Boatworks Commons, is a relatively new yoga studio, Studio One Yoga, which offers “yoga for everyone,” says Dariush Moslemi, co-owner with his wife, Sarah.

Football is definitely a team sport. And John Schwietz and some other football parents at Mahtomedi High School wanted to make sure everyone felt like part of the team. “We wanted to take what was an ordinary experience and turn it into something extraordinary,” Schwietz says.
When you think of weddings, you usually think of the bride. Kellerman’s is thinking of the groom, and recently added a groom’s room at their event center.
Cindy Senarighi began a faith-based yoga called Yogadevotion in 1999. “I took the philosophy of yoga and integrated it with my faith,” Senarighi says. Yogadevotion doesn’t have a storefront but, instead, travels to its customers.
Summer festivals are a tradition in many Minnesota communities, and Birchwood Village on the south shore of White Bear Lake is no exception. An early celebration that still continues is the Birchwood Fourth of July Parade.
If you’re looking for something fun to do on the Fourth of July, celebrate the 50th year of Manitou Days and attend its fireworks display. The fireworks “are shot off on a barge, which is anchored 900 feet from shore,” says Dick Galena, the chair of the White Bear Lake Fireworks Committee.

Christine McMakin has been curling since she was five years old; however, she jokes it’s technically been longer. “I always tell people ‘before I was born,’ because curling in my family is a big family sport,” McMakin says.
Kristi Gess, a White Bear Lake native, started at Orangetheory Fitness four years ago after an old high school friend reached out to her on Facebook about a head coach position. She was instantly hooked when she found out more.
