As long as Minnesotans have known notoriously brutal Midwest winters, we have celebrated the reprieve  summer weather brings and enjoyed relaxing on the beach. From the state’s infancy, White Bear Lake has served as one of these vacation getaways.

Amid the shops in downtown White Bear Lake is a little furniture store specializing in giving the old new purpose. Now the building the store occupies has gotten a facelift as well, thanks to Eli Rupnow, the building’s new owner.

On September 17, the White Bear Center for the Arts (WBCA) is hosting a program about Saint Hildegard of Bingen in honor of her feast day, September 17.

In the late 1980s, a special piece of Dellwood property caught real estate developer Ron Peltier’s eye. The 188-acre tract of land was originally part of James J. Hill’s empire and was passed down to his daughter and then his granddaughter, Gertrude Ffolliott.

A night of fun and food is ahead at Vadnais Heights’ Ice Cream Social, a tradition that has been going on for over 30 years. The social will be held at Berwood Park, a familiar host.
