Owls: Masters of the Night

How much do you know about the owls that glide through cold Minnesota nights? Get up close and learn more about these amazing birds at Tamarack Nature Center. Meet and greet the resident owls, then take off on a hike to explore the habitat for signs of owl pellets, feathers and more, to explore the world of these incredible nighttime predators. Liberty Classical Academy Campus Tour

Liberty Classical Academy will host a Liberty: All Access campus and program tour on December 17, 2014.  The tour is open to the public, providing a first-hand experience of how Liberty is achieving outstanding academic results by using the time-tested classical method.  The tour includes: observing students in the classroom; listening to a parent testimony of the Liberty experience; and a brief presentation by Liberty’s Headmaster, Rebekah Hagstrom, sharing the mission and vision of Liberty. Fall Clean-Up Day

Bring in your unwanted items and the city of White Bear Lake will dispose of them. Old furniture, appliances, tires and fluorescent bulbs are accepted; please do not bring any hazardous waste. Buckthorn Brigade

All you ever wanted to know about buckthorn! If you or your group is interested in controlling buckthorn at home or in Ramsey County parks, this informative hands-on program is for you. Participants will learn why these exotic species are invasive, how to identify common and smooth buckthorn, and how to control and dispose of buckthorn safely. Practice your new skills in the field, then enjoy a hot beverage before you head home!

Ages: 8 and up with an adult
